For a while now I have been on the fence about getting a switch, mostly due to the price and the fact that it's a lot of money to put towards a console if it doesn't have enough games I'm interested in, I waited it out and low and behold games I knew I wanted started being announced and released. The other day I messaged my partner and said look I want a switch but need to save a bit more money up for it, then he suggested going halves on it, for some this may be ridiculous because what if we break up? Personally, I don't think like that and took up the offer ongoing halves, we went for the let's go Eevee bundle which was £299 on top of that my partner got us Pokemon Tekken DX and I ordered the collectors edition of Harvest Moon for £31.99.
We got the Switch delivered the day before it's 2 year birthday, which has gone extremely fast, I can remember it being announced just like it was yesterday! The main reason I wanted a Switch was because of Animal Crossing, it's not out yet but when it gets released I wanted to get my hands on it as soon as I could, on top of that there were a good few games I wanted to get, two of which we have now got. Originally I was thinking about getting a WiiU, unpopular opinion but I loved using my parents one and the style of it was adorable, the screen is a decent size too, but alas the Switch won me over.
I wanted to start applying to play switch games and review more indie releases, not a lot of love gets sent their way as they're overshadowed by big named gaming developers and I often find that indie games can be very rewarding to play! My partner is a huge Pokemon fan so he is thrilled to be able to play new titles on the Switch although I admittedly have been hogging it, but he knows he can play it whenever he wants even if I'm on it!
Some of the other game titles I really want to get are:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Stardew Valley
- Overcooked 2
- Fitness Boxing
- Kirby Star Allies
- Kamiko
- Fe
- The Gardens Between
The Gardens Between is one out of them all, it's a puzzle based game about two teenagers named Arina and Frendt who live next door to one another and became very good friends when Arina moved next door. The two of them go on a dream-like adventure together where they find themselves on and surrounded by small islands, they have to find a way back home by solving puzzles and making all the islands collapse into the sea. It's such a gorgeous looking game and definitely one that I shall be purchasing sometime soon!
I may have a huge PlayStation backlog to get through but it's not going to stop me from immersing myself in something new, right now I'm really enjoying Let's Go Eevee, it follows the original Pokemon games Red, Blue, and Yellow where you return to Kanto, the biggest difference in the Let's Go Games is the battle system and of course the updated graphics, I was more invested in the pokemon tv show than the games as a child but I'm finding a lot of enjoyment playing the game on Switch. I chose the Eevee edition as she appeals to more so than Pikachu (sorry!!). Once I've finished some Switch games I plan on writing up reviews for them, so keep an eye out!
